How to play
Everything you need to know to set your first time, and a few ideas for finding the last tenths of a second.
One stage a day
A new stage appears every day and it is the same for everyone. You get 3 attempts at it (6 with Rally Pass). Quitting or restarting a run uses up an attempt, so it is worth finishing a run even if it goes wrong, because you might still beat your own best.
The fastest three drivers at midnight UTC win gold, silver and bronze. Then the next stage unlocks and the whole thing starts again. Rally Pass members can also drive every past stage from the calendar with unlimited attempts.
Drift or lose
Tap brake while turning
This kicks the back of the car out and starts the drift.
Throttle while turning
Stay on the power to hold the drift through the corner.
Lift off the throttle
Easing off rotates the car a little more when you need a tighter line.
Turn the other way
Steer against the drift to chain straight into the next one.
When you are stopped, hold the brake to reverse.

Tips for faster times
Read the briefing
The map and climb profile show where the long straights and tight sections are before you commit an attempt.
Brake early into sharp corners
Running wide off the road costs far more time than a slightly early lift.
Respect the surface
Gravel, tarmac, snow and ice all behave differently. The same drift that works on gravel needs more care on ice.
Learn from ghosts
Race the ghost of your best run, or a faster player’s, to see exactly where they gain time.
Use all your attempts
Your first run is for learning the road. Time usually drops quickly on the second and third.
Save good replays
Keep replays of your best drives so you can compare them with later attempts.
